Online entries for 2018 has closed. Late entries are available at event registration on Friday night (24/8) between 4pm and 7pm at Summerhill Restaurant, Palmerston North, or on race morning at the Ferry Reserve on Saturday 25/8, from 6:30 am. No entries on race morning for the Catchment Ultra.

As a token of our appreciation, every participant entering the Catchment Ultra, North Range Traverse or Hall Block Humdinger before midnight, Tuesday 31 July 2018 will receive a free eye-catching custom design event headband!

Entering before the end of July 2018  will also ensure that you get your name printed on your race bib.

Entry fees

Standard pricing (up to Sunday, 19 August 2018)

  • Catchment Ultra 50km run – $ 100.00 / person
  • Tilt Renewables North Range Traverse 25km run/walk – $ 60.00 / person
  • Tararua District Hall Block Humdinger 12.5km run/walk – $ 30.00 / person

Participants entering the Catchment Ultra or North Range Traverse before the end of Sunday 19 August 2018 will receive complimentary bus transport to the start of their respective events. Please indicate whether you intend making use of the free transport option when you enter.

Late entries

Late entries will be available between 4 and 7pm on Friday night, 24 August at event registration (Rendezvous Restaurant, Summerhill Shopping Centre, 194 Ruapehu Dr, Fitzherbert, Palmerston North) as well as at Race HQ on event morning (see the Event Info page for more information). Cash only – we regret no eftpos facilities will be available for late entries at registration. Late entries will incur a $10 late entry penalty.
(Note: On-the-day entries will NOT be available for the Catchment Ultra.)

Late entries do not include bus transport. Participants making use of late entry into the Catchment Ultra or North Range Traverse need to arrange their own transport to the start of their event. Drop-offs only, as there is very limited parking at the event start.

Event merchandise

When selecting event apparel for this year’s North Range Trio, we were faced with the choice between a cheap, generic running shirt destined to end up at the bottom of your t-shirt drawer, or a high-quality, running-specific technical tee that’s good enough to become an indispensable part of your daily running kit. It should not come as a surprise that we opted for the latter. We are proud to bring you our 2018 North Range Trio Event Tee – the stunning Salming Balance Long Sleeve Tee, available in Black for men and Black or Pink for ladies. Available during the online registration process at $65 each.

Please note you have to order your event merchandise before the end of Sunday 22 July 2018 to ensure that the shirts are ready to pick up at registration. Shirts ordered after this date will be mailed to participants after the event. To cover the postage, the cost of the Long Sleeve Tees will increase from $65 to $70 after 22 July.

Distance changes, transfers and withdrawal

To minimise the administrative load, we would prefer if participants do not swap between event distances. However, if you do need to change your event distance, please contact the Race Director with any transfer requests.

  • Distance changes up to Sunday 12 August will not incur an additional admin fee.
  • Changes after 12 August 2018 will incur a $10 admin fee.
  • As distance changes impact on issues like bus transport etc, no changes are allowed after Sunday, 19 August.

In the interest of personal safety, please do not change event distances on the day without informing an event official.

Entries are transferable to another runner/walker, but will incur a $10 admin fee. Please contact the Race Director for any participant transfers.

In the case of participants withdrawing from the event, entries will be refunded, minus an admin fee. Withdrawals up to Sunday 22 July will incur a $10 admin fee, while withdrawals between 23 July and 12 August 2018 will incur a $20 fee. After Sunday 12 August, no refunds will be given to participants wishing to withdraw. Please contact the Race Director if you need to withdraw from the event.
